Book Review: “ ‘Mobilizing in Our Own Name’ Million Worker March Movement”

Dear Clarence,

I’ve finally had a chance to really look over and to read into your anthology, “Mobilizing in Our Own Name.” It is a valuable collection of articles and essays that document many of the important events and struggles made over time in the search for social justice by Local 10 ILWU people and others. It is very helpful to have all of these sources collected in one place. Thank you for preparing the anthology and for making it available. I’m sure laborites, writers, teachers, students, and all sorts of people will benefit from your anthology.

By the way, I can well imagine how much work it took for you to put this book together. I’m sure that collecting all the articles, photos, permissions, and on and on, was a ton of work. It is a wonder that we even survive these projects! Congratulations on the effort and the product!

Best wishes and regards,

In Solidarity,
Harvey Schwartz
